[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City held an opening ceremony for the 'Uiwang Mathematics Clinic Center' on the 28th at the Morning Life and Culture Center (4th floor of the Morning Community Center, 61 Ojeon-dongil, Uiwang City) to operate mathematics consultation and experience programs for elementary and middle school students in the city.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City, guests, parents, and approximately 30 related officials.
The 'Mathematics Clinic' is divided into a 'consultation program' where active teachers provide one-on-one consulting to help students gain confidence in mathematics—not only those interested in the subject but also those whose interest and confidence have waned—and an 'experience program' where students use mathematics-related teaching materials to create and experience hands-on activities while understanding and interpreting mathematical principles.
Meanwhile, the Uiwang Mathematics Clinic Center will begin consultation and experience programs every Saturday starting July 6th. Detailed program schedules and information can be found on the Uiwang City Hall website or the Uiwang Mathematics Clinic Center website.
Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City said, "I am pleased about the opening of the Mathematics Clinic Center for a greater leap forward for Uiwang City, an educational excellence city." He added, "I will spare no effort in interest and support for the operation of the Mathematics Clinic Center so that students can gain confidence in mathematics, and will continuously implement various educational policies that citizens can experience."
