Suwon to Recruit 64 Classes for "Visiting Suwon Environmental Classroom" Program

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Junseong] Suwon Special Status City will recruit 64 classes to participate in the "2024 Second-half Visiting Suwon Environmental Classroom" from August 8 to 12.

The 'Visiting Suwon Environmental Classroom' is an experiential environmental education program operated using a specially designed bus for ecological experience learning. Professional environmental education instructors visit 4th-grade elementary students every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The program consists of bus experience activities (11 content modules) organized around themes of natural environment and biodiversity, as well as classroom lessons utilizing Suwon City's environmental education materials and teaching aids.

The second-half program will be conducted for 64 classes in the city from September 3 to November 29, with each class receiving two sessions.

Classes wishing to participate can apply through the Suwon City Integrated Reservation System.

Meanwhile, during the first half (March to July), the program was conducted for 91 classes in the city. According to education satisfaction survey results, responses indicating satisfaction with the biodiversity-themed video and bus experience content exceeded 97%.

A city official stated, "The 'Visiting Suwon Environmental Classroom' is expected to help elementary students better understand environmental issues and learn practical methods for environmental protection," and added, "We hope many classes will apply."
