[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jeong Jun-seong] Suwon Special City is operating 'Saebit Hostel,' short-term lodging for young people relocating to Suwon.

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jeong Jun-seong] On the 9th, the city held the 'Saebit Hostel opening ceremony' in the first-floor lobby of the main building of Suwon Youth Hostel, attended by Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun and young people who are (scheduled to be) admitted. At the ceremony, Mayor Lee presented nameplates to the young residents.

Saebit Hostel is short-term lodging provided to young people relocating to Suwon City for employment or studies. Ten rooms (2 per room) on the 3rd floor of the main building of Suwon Youth Hostel are being used as Saebit Hostel.

Twenty relocating young people aged 19 to 39 can use it, and the daily usage fee is 4,000 won.

Eligible applicants include △young people working at or with confirmed employment at a small or medium-sized enterprise based in Suwon City (1st priority) △young people working at or with confirmed employment at a company or institution other than a small or medium-sized enterprise based in Suwon City (2nd priority) △young people enrolled at or with confirmed admission to a university (or graduate school) based in Suwon City (3rd priority).

Young people who do not fall under priorities 1 to 3, such as those currently living in Suwon who need temporary housing due to the expiration of a rental contract, may be selected as 4th priority following an internal review.

The city operates a housing companion (housing peace-of-mind) manager for the young people admitted to Saebit Hostel. The companion manager accompanies young people when looking for housing and provides consultation on rental contracts.

Information on how to apply for admission can be found on the 'Program' bulletin board of the Suwon City Youth Support Center website (www.swyouth.kr).

Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "Creating a society where young people can live well is everyone's responsibility," adding, "I hope life in Suwon remains a warm memory."
