Uiwang City Holds Opening Ceremony for 'Naeson Children's Park Barefoot Walking Path'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Chung-young] Uiwang City held an opening ceremony for a barefoot walking path at Naeson Children's Park on the 24th.

Naeson Children's Park is located near Naeson Middle and High School Integrated Future Academy and residential complexes and is a children's park equipped with ziplines, swings, and slides.

The newly opened barefoot walking path was created by renovating a deteriorated wooden facility space and flower beds within Naeson Children's Park, with a total length of 220m (120m ochre soil path, 100m sand path).

The interior of the ochre soil path is densely filled with colorful seasonal flowers providing visual enjoyment while walking, and the theme facilities—an ochre footbath and ochre ball court—have been recreated as healing spaces where residents can spend time together and enjoy moments of laughter.

As a large-scale redevelopment project is underway near Naeson Children's Park, it is expected that many residents will visit the barefoot walking path in the future. Shade structures, which were not present in existing ochre soil paths, will also be installed, offering fresh attractions and unique experiences while enhancing citizen satisfaction.

Meanwhile, the city has additionally created a 180m sand path that loops through the park's green spaces and plans to construct a total urban barefoot walking path of 400m in the future.

Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City stated, "With the creation of this barefoot walking path, the park is expected to transform from one focused on children's play facilities to one that brings together all age groups," and added, "I hope it will become a space where families can communicate with nature together and enjoy healthy leisure activities."
