Hwaseong Mayor Jung Myeong-geun, "Will Create an Attractive City Where All Citizens Feel Pride"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Chan-hyeok] Hwaseong City Mayor Jung Myeong-geun attended the '237th Hwaseong City Council 2nd Regular Session' on the 11th and delivered a municipal address containing next year's budget allocation and city administration direction.

At the address, Mayor Jung stated that a main budget of 3.5027 trillion won was allocated for 2025, an increase of 317.7 billion won compared to the previous year.

In particular, he stated that he would pursue bold expansionary fiscal policy to recover the livelihood economy by increasing the budget focusing on △livelihood support △activation of local construction projects △strengthening future strategic projects.

Mayor Jung then said, "As population decline and regional disappearance have become major issues nationwide, the Hwaseong Special City, which will begin anew next year, will become 'a city chosen by future generations,'" presenting a blueprint for becoming a city selected by future generations.

As the direction for city administration to achieve this, he presented △an economic city that supports citizens' livelihood △a welfare city that supports citizens' lives △a cultural city that enriches citizens' lives.

Mayor Jung stated, "While Hwaseong City thus far has been 'a good city as a workplace,' the future Hwaseong Special City will develop into a 'true foundation of life' where workplaces, living spaces, and places of rest harmoniously blend together," emphasizing, "I will create a city of growth and innovation, with reliable welfare and abundant culture, an attractive city where all citizens feel pride."

Finally, Mayor Jung said, "Tomorrow will be 50 days before the launch of the special city," adding, "As we welcome the first year of the special city, since we have carefully prepared the budget, we ask for the city council's interest and cooperation."
