Suwon Urban Corporation President Heo Jung-moon Participates in Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Urban Corporation President Heo Jung-moon participated on the 18th in the 'Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign' aimed at eradicating child abuse and promoting positive parenting.

The campaign is being promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Children's Rights Guarantee Institute since May to raise awareness of positive parenting and to commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19).

President Heo Jung-moon was nominated by Gwangmyeong Urban Corporation President Seo Dong-il and participated in the relay on the morning of the 18th holding a placard that reads 'Respect and positive parenting for children as they are' at his office in Deoham Park. President Heo nominated Siheung Urban Corporation President Jung Dong-sun as the next relay participant.

President Heo Jung-moon said, "At a time when low birth rate is emerging as a national issue, the children who will take responsibility for future generations must not suffer abuse and hardship any longer," and "The corporation will also do its utmost to ensure that children in the local community are respected and able to build happy lives."
