Osan City Wins Top Prize at Gyeonggi Province's 'Best Proactive Administration Practices Competition'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Chan-hyuk] Osan City announced on the 25th that it won the top prize at Gyeonggi Province's '2024 Civil Service Improvement Best Practices Competition' held on the 22nd at the Ramada Hotel in Suwon with a presentation on the theme 'Help Me! Smart Object Address-NFC 2-Second Emergency Report System.'

The smart autonomous object address is a national safety project facility equipped with an additional NFC function that allows citizens to quickly report their location to police (112), fire departments (119), and other emergency services with just an NFC touch without requiring wireless Wi-Fi during emergencies or crisis situations.

Starting with the object address system, the city plans to install smart basic number plates in crime-prone areas based on big data analysis as part of the Sapped project, a crime prevention initiative, next year.

Osan City Mayor Lee Gwon-jae said, "When urgent situations occur where every second counts, we plan to establish an organic emergency reporting system utilizing the smart address information system in cooperation with related organizations such as police stations and fire departments, and will make efforts to increase the utilization rate of the address information system among vulnerable social groups," adding "We will continue promotional activities to enable citizens to report emergencies promptly."
