Mayor Kim Kyung-hee of Icheon Receives '12th Korea Knowledge Management Award'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Mayor Kim Kyung-hee of Icheon received the grand prize in the advanced industrial city category at the '12th Korea Knowledge Management Forum & Awards Ceremony' held at the National Assembly Members' Hall on the 26th, hosted by the Korea Knowledge Management Organization Committee.

The Korea Knowledge Management Award is presented to leaders who have made their best efforts in various fields including society, economy, politics, and social service, and is regarded as a prestigious award hosted by the Korea Knowledge Management Organization Committee (Chairman Lee Joo-hyung).

Mayor Kim received high acclaim for efforts to prepare future sources of growth, including revitalizing livelihoods and the regional economy since the 8th civilian administration and implementing organizational restructuring to foster advanced industries.

In addition, while establishing a win-win cooperation system with local companies, the city has concentrated on balanced regional development and smart safe cities to pursue sustainable innovative growth and heightened citizen satisfaction through proactive administration that promptly addresses citizen inconveniences.

Mayor Kim Kyung-hee said, "We recently received the good news of preliminary designation in the Gyeonggi-type Science High School new designation recruitment, and I am honored to receive this award today," and added, "During this challenging time both domestically and internationally, we will prepare for the future as a high-value-added advanced industrial city while preserving history and tradition."
