Suwon Launches 'Good Faith Prepayment Campaign' to Revitalize Sluggish Alley Commerce

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Special City announced on the 30th that it will promote a 'Good Faith Prepayment Campaign' through March to revitalize struggling alley commerce districts.

The Good Faith Prepayment Campaign involves making prepayments at small business shops and making repeated visits to use the prepaid amounts in installments.

Suwon City civil servants, partner organizations, and relevant groups will voluntarily participate in the campaign.

Customers can prepay a certain amount at small business shops including Suwon's traditional markets, alley shopping districts, good-price businesses, and participants in the 'Suwon Pay 10+10 Event,' complete a prepayment confirmation certificate, and use it within one month.

The 'Suwon Pay 10+10 Event' provides up to 10% discounts when customers pay with Suwon Pay at participating businesses. Participating businesses can choose their discount rate (5%, 7%, or 10%). Customers who charge Suwon Pay to receive a 10% incentive and use Suwon Pay at participating businesses to receive up to 10% discount can receive a maximum 20% discount benefit.

On the 23rd, the city held a 'Good Faith Prepayment Campaign' briefing session at Suwon City Hall with traditional market merchants association presidents, small business union presidents, alley shopping district union executives, good-price business operators, and representatives of 10+10 participating businesses to explain the campaign implementation plan.

Small business representatives who attended the briefing session pledged to "actively participate in the Good Faith Prepayment Campaign and actively promote it."

A city official said, "We have issued Suwon Pay in record-breaking volume to recover the people's livelihood economy, and the 'Suwon Pay 10+10 Event' is also underway," adding "We hope the Good Faith Prepayment movement will help small business owners facing difficulties due to economic slowdown."
