Pyeongtaek City Holds Integrity Campaign and Pledge Ceremony to Spread Clean Public Service Culture

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Chan-hyuk] Pyeongtaek City held an integrity campaign and integrity pledge ceremony targeting public officials in the lobby of City Hall on the 5th.

The integrity campaign and pledge ceremony were organized to strengthen commitment to integrity practices, raise awareness about corruption prevention, and spread a culture of integrity practice.

The integrity campaign distributed integrity guides and promotional materials to emphasize the importance of clean public service life, while creating an atmosphere for public officials to voluntarily commit to integrity practice and reaffirming their resolve for fair and transparent administration.

Following the integrity campaign, senior civil servants of grade 4 and above participated in the integrity pledge ceremony, committing to lead the creation of a clean public service culture by prohibiting improper solicitations and acceptance of gifts, eliminating abuse of power, preventing conflicts of interest, and eradicating drunk driving.

Meanwhile, the city is implementing various activities to realize a transparent and clean organizational culture, including distributing integrity information materials to citizens, sending integrity text messages, conducting departmental integrity training, and operating an integrity library.

Mayor Jung Jang-seon said, “Let us all make efforts to become public officials who deeply feel and practice integrity from within, not merely shouting about integrity in words,” and added, “Let us wash away internal conflicts such as temptations to solicit favors or misconduct as cleanly as washing our hands.”
