[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign' conducted by Suwon Special City and Gyeonggi Community Chest from December last year through January this year has concluded with the fundraising target exceeded.
The city held an unveiling ceremony for the 'Thermometer of Love' in the lobby of City Hall on December 10 last year and launched the 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign.' The Thermometer of Love starts at 0℃ and rises by 1℃ for every 10 million won raised. This year, with 1.05 billion won collected, the gauge climbed to 105℃.
The city held a closing ceremony for the Thermometer of Love in the lobby of City Hall on the 6th and reported the fundraising results. The ceremony was attended by Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun and Kim In-bae, head of the Welfare and Women's Division of Suwon City.
The donations will be delivered to vulnerable neighbors through the Gyeonggi Community Chest designated donation method. The funds will be used for heating and cooling expenses for low-income households, residential environment improvement projects for households with storage disorders, and support for vulnerable families in welfare blind spots.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "Despite economic difficulties, the donation amount increased compared to last year thanks to citizens sharing warm hearts with their neighbors," and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the sharing campaign. He added, "The precious donations will be used to help vulnerable groups in need."
