Suwon Architects Society Donates 5 Million Won to Suwon Scholarship Foundation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] The Suwon Architects Society (Chairman Lee Jae-hyung) donated 5 million won in scholarship funds to the Suwon Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Park Chun-keun), stating "please use this for nurturing local talent." Additionally, the society contributed 3 million won to Suwon City, requesting that it be used "for vulnerable neighbors."

Chairman Lee Jae-hyung and executives of the Suwon Architects Society visited Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun's office on the 18th to present the funds. The Suwon Architects Society has deposited a total of 33 million won in scholarship funds to the Suwon Scholarship Foundation from 2018 to this year.

The 3 million won in donations to help vulnerable populations was raised by 136 members of the Suwon Architects Society.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun, Chairman Lee Jae-hyung (Banseok E&C; Architects Office) and executives, as well as Suwon Scholarship Foundation Chairman Park Chun-keun.

Chairman Lee Jae-hyung said, "The Suwon Architects Society takes great pride in supporting students who will lead Suwon City's future" and "I hope our architects' small gesture of goodwill becomes a source of strength for these students." He added, "We will continue to participate in various activities for the development of our local community."

Chairman Park Chun-keun stated, "I sincerely thank the Suwon Architects Society for consistently showing interest in scholarship projects and sponsoring talent development," and added, "The Suwon Scholarship Foundation will provide support to help children nurture their dreams and grow into talented individuals."

Chairman Lee Jae-hyung also said, "Our members united with one heart and mind to collect donations for neighbors in need" and "We hope this will help those facing economic difficulties get through the winter comfortably."

Suwon City plans to use the donation to support heating expenses for households in crisis and assistance programs for storage disorder households.

Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "I thank the Suwon Architects Society for consistently providing support to nurture local talent" and "I will do my best to cultivate local talent." He added, "The community assistance donations will be used carefully for neighbors who truly need help."

The Suwon Scholarship Foundation, established in April 2006 as a Suwon City affiliated institution, operates scholarship support programs to discover and nurture outstanding local talent. To date, it has distributed a total of 10.885 billion won in scholarships to 13,166 elementary, middle, high school, and university students.
