Namyangju City Holds Site Meeting with Gyeonggi Province and Provincial Assembly on 'Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Namyangju Construction'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Namyangju City held a site meeting on the 20th at the Baekbong District comprehensive medical facility site (731 Hogyeong-dong) to discuss the construction of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Namyangju.

The meeting was organized to discuss cooperation measures to promptly advance the construction of the public medical center.

Attendees at the meeting included Mayor Ju Gwang-deok, Vice-chair Ko Jun-ho of the Gyeonggi Province Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, members Lee Byung-gil and Yun Tae-gil, members Kim Jae-hun and Lee In-ae of the Women's, Family and Lifelong Education Committee, member Kim Cheol-hyun of the Future Science Cooperation Committee, Yoo Young-chul, Director of the Health and Healthcare Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, and Lee Pil-su, Director of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center.

The attendees discussed strategies to promptly carry out follow-up procedures including the Ministry of Strategy and Finance preliminary feasibility study.

Key items included △prompt advancement of follow-up procedures for Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center construction △establishment of an operational collaboration committee composition plan △sharing of Gyeonggi Province's implementation progress and future schedule.

During the site meeting, approximately 20 local residents visited the site to request prompt construction of the provincial medical center and expressed their gratitude for the on-site visit.

Meanwhile, the province plans to commence feasibility and private investment eligibility assessment work this month, and subsequently will hold a work commencement report meeting to discuss the implementation direction with relevant officials from the province and city.

Mayor Ju Gwang-deok said, "On behalf of 740,000 Namyangju citizens, I express deep gratitude for the decision to proceed with the construction of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Namyangju to resolve medical imbalances in the province," and "I will do my utmost to cooperate closely with Gyeonggi Province so that the medical center can be built promptly."
