Yeoju City Announces Citizen Budget Proposal Contest for 2026 Budget Compilation

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Eom In-yong] Yeoju City will begin accepting citizen budget proposal applications from the 24th for the 2026 fiscal year budget compilation.

The city plans to accept proposals continuously throughout the year to ensure sustained citizen interest and participation. Proposals received by April 30 during the concentrated application period will be reflected in the 2026 budget, while proposals received after that will be included in the 2027 budget.

Anyone who is a Yeoju City resident with household registration in Yeoju City or is affiliated with an organization, group, company, or school located in Yeoju City is eligible to participate. Applicants can propose projects addressing inconveniences in daily life or events and programs to improve residents' quality of life.

The total budget for citizen budget proposals is 2 billion won. General projects can request up to 300 million won per project, while events and programs can request up to 50 million won per project. Small-scale SOC projects can be proposed within a limit of 50 million won per eup, myeon, and dong.

Proposed projects will undergo feasibility reviews by relevant departments and will be finalized by October after combining 30% priority determined through online voting with 70% priority determined by the Yeoju City Citizen Budget Committee.

Citizens wishing to submit project proposals can complete a citizen budget proposal form and apply through the Yeoju City website (Citizens Participation > Citizen Budget Participation), visit the City Hall Planning and Budget Division, Civil Affairs and Land Division, or the Administrative Welfare Centers in each eup, myeon, and dong. Applications are also possible via email and mail.
