Korea Tax Accountant Association Launches 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' Public Support Platform App
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] The Korea Tax Accountant Association (Chairman Gu Jae-yi) has launched the 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' app, a public tax support platform developed in-house, and begun offering the first online tax filing service for platform workers including freelancers, delivery riders, couriers, and freight workers ahead of the comprehensive income tax filing period.
The 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' app is designed to allow taxpayers to automatically retrieve income information on their smartphones through simple identity verification without accessing Hometax. After entering deduction items such as dependents, users can confirm total income and deduction amounts, enabling tax accountants to proceed immediately with filing.
In particular, ahead of the May comprehensive income tax filing period, the 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' app enables easier and more accurate filings. It allows users to inquire about refund details for up to five years and process refund applications in a one-stop manner, attracting significant user interest.
The Korea Tax Accountant Association and Korea Tax Accountant Association Data Processing Corporation (CEO Song Myung-jun) will run events for 55 days from April 7 to May 31 coinciding with the app's launch and full operation. During this period, 555 users selected from new registrants on the 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' app will receive Starbucks coffee gift certificates. Event participation is automatic upon downloading the app via QR code and completing Kakao Talk identity verification.
Chairman Gu Jae-yi stated, "While tax accountants have primarily provided tax management services centered on bookkeeping firms, the comprehensive income tax filing support system through this 'Citizens' Tax Accountant' app is significant in that even the smallest business operators can now receive tax assistance from a trusted qualified professional," he said.
