Hwaseong City Selected as 'Excellence' Agency in 2025 Gyeonggi Province Delinquent Local Tax Management Comprehensive Evaluation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park Chan-hyuk] Hwaseong Special City announced on the 7th that it has been selected as an 'Excellence' agency in Group 1 in the "2025 (2024 performance) Delinquent Local Tax Management City and County Comprehensive Evaluation" hosted by Gyeonggi Province.

This evaluation is a comprehensive assessment in which the province divides 31 cities and counties into five groups based on the scale of carried-over delinquent local tax amounts and the number of delinquent taxpayers, then evaluates overall delinquent local tax operations across three categories with 28 items: delinquent tax settlement, delinquent tax enforcement, and delinquent collection initiatives.

The city was selected as an 'Excellence' agency in Group 1, which includes Suwon City, Yongin City, and Goyang City, and secured a commendation plaque and prize money of 40 million won.

The city received excellent evaluation through active delinquent tax collection activities including △swift and diverse debt collection △implementation of strong administrative penalties △public auction disposal of seized assets (real estate and vehicles) △vehicle license plate impoundment △violation case investigation △and workplace searches at delinquent business establishments.

Finance Bureau Director Song Moon-ho stated, "This year, Hwaseong City achieved excellent results across all areas of tax administration, including tax assessment, non-tax revenue, and delinquent tax management," and added, "Through systematic delinquent tax management and fair tax administration, we will secure stable local finances and foster a sound tax compliance culture."
