Yeoju City's Geumeun Morae Riverbank Park Bursts into Bloom with Poppies

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Poppies are in full bloom at the flower garden of Geumeun Morae Riverbank Park located in Yeonyang-dong in the southern section of the Namhan River Polgil Bridge in Yeoju City, creating a spectacular landscape.

The flower garden at Geumeun Morae Riverbank Park (2,400 square meters, approximately 700 pyeong) plants various types of flowering plants seasonally each year to create distinctive scenery.

This year, coinciding with "2025 Yeoju's Inaugural Tourism Year," red-toned poppies were planted, and the hillside covered in blooming poppies resembles a scene from Claude Monet's work "Poppy Hill," creating an authentic spectacle.

Geumeun Morae Riverbank Park is a neighborhood park open to the public year-round and features convenient nearby parking. It offers an Ainoori playground suitable for children, a picnic area ideal for outings, a walking trail circulating the park's perimeter, a themed flower garden, and a grass plaza for group activities, making it an ideal neighborhood park for enjoying outdoor activities and exercise in pleasant weather.

Jang Hong-gi, director of the City's Forestry and Parks Division, stated, "Geumeun Morae Riverbank Park, which serves as the lungs of the downtown area, is actively leading efforts to discover various projects, including creating a barefoot walking path with earthy scent, to provide citizens with attractions and entertainment."
