Five Suwon Shuttle Bus Companies Donate 10 Million Won in Scholarships to Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Five shuttle bus companies in Suwon have donated 10 million won in scholarships to the Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation. Each of the five companies contributed 2 million won.

Representatives of the five companies—Yuljeong Village Bus, Namkyung Transportation, Dongbang Transportation, Seobu Passenger, and Gwanggyo Transportation—visited Suwon City Hall on the 29th to present the scholarships to the Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation. Attending the ceremony were Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun and Noh Su-yong, Executive Director of the Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation.

Kang Tae-ho, Chairman of Yuljeong Village Bus Co., Ltd., stated, "Since our shuttle bus business has grown with the love and support of Suwon citizens, we wanted to support the dreams and futures of local students. We will continue to engage in sustained social contribution activities going forward."

Noh Su-yong, Executive Director of the Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation, said, "The heartfelt donation from five Suwon shuttle bus companies will serve as a solid foundation for nurturing the dreams of our children. The warm support from the local community provides students with great hope and courage. The Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation will continue to support children so they can advance into a broader world."

Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "I am grateful to the shuttle bus companies for practicing meaningful sharing with love for the local community despite difficult circumstances. I will do my best to ensure that your warm hearts are conveyed to all corners of our city."

Meanwhile, the Suwon Mayor Scholarship Foundation, established in April 2006 as an agency funded by Suwon City, supports scholarship programs to discover and cultivate talented local individuals. To date, it has provided scholarships totaling 10.95 billion won to 13,176 elementary, middle, high school, and university students.
