Suwon Named Outstanding Organization in '2025 Gyeonggi Province Metropolis Transportation Facility Contribution Comprehensive Evaluation'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Suwon Metropolitan City has been selected as the outstanding organization in the '2025 Gyeonggi Province Metropolis Transportation Facility Contribution Comprehensive Evaluation,' securing 7 million won in subsidies.

The province annually evaluates 31 cities and counties on overall metropolitan transportation facility contribution operations and selects outstanding local governments. The 2024 performance was evaluated across 3 categories and 7 items: △metropolis transportation facility contribution collection and management △delinquent payment management △institutional head interest level.

Groups are divided according to collection amount. Suwon was selected as the outstanding organization in Group 2 (600 million to 3 billion won, 11 cities and counties).

The city received superior grades in 2021-2022, outstanding in 2023, and superior in 2024, achieving five consecutive years of selection as superior or outstanding.

Meanwhile, the metropolis transportation facility contribution is a burden imposed on development project operators under the 'Special Act on Management of Metropolis Transportation in the Seoul Metropolitan Area,' with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion and preventing haphazard development. It is imposed on residential development, urban development, site development and housing construction projects, housing redevelopment and reconstruction projects, and mixed-use building construction projects.

A city official stated, "We will continue to do our best in metropolis transportation facility contribution operations and contribute to the development of the transportation sector in Suwon."
