Namyangju City Hosts 'Glocal Festival' Connecting Korea and Mongolia

[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong] Namyangju City will host the 'Glocal Festival—Korea & Mongolia Cultural Exchange Festival' at the Mongolian Culture Village in Sudong-myeon on June 21.

The event is designed to enhance mutual understanding between Korea and Mongolia through cultural exchange and provide citizens with an opportunity to experience Mongolian culture.

The festival will feature various experience booths and performances showcasing the cultures of both nations, including △handicrafts using traditional patterns △VR content △traditional games.

The experience booths will operate from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by performances beginning at 5 p.m. featuring Toekyewon Sandae Play, dance crew 'Winsome', Mongolian singers 'Munkhjin', 'Bilguun', and 'Jason' taking the stage.

Notably, this performance will be held free for all seats to share early summer memories with citizens, and admission is available on the day of the performance without separate advance reservations.

Park Sun-young, head of the Culture and Tourism Division of Namyangju City, said, "This festival will serve as an important cultural exchange platform for Namyangju City to advance as a global city," adding, "We hope it will be a time for all citizens to enjoy and experience the value of cultural diversity."
