Gapyeong County Mobilizes All Civil Servants for Flood Recovery Efforts

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Gapyeong County announced that it has mobilized all civil servants to focus administrative resources on recovery efforts from the massive heavy rainfall damage that occurred on July 20, skipping the scheduled August monthly assembly on the 4th.

County Governor Seo Tae-won stated in a message delivered to each department, "This heavy downpour has left unprecedented damage across Gapyeong County, and currently our county is making all-out efforts for recovery with our entire workforce. The sight of civil servants standing guard at sites even on weekends and holidays while forgoing their vacation is providing great comfort to residents."

He continued, "I appreciate the efforts of civil servants who are working tirelessly despite the extreme heat. In times like these, we must look out for one another and show solidarity to recover from the wounds left by natural disasters as quickly as possible and realize trustworthy administration that shares the pain of our residents."

Meanwhile, the county is continuing to pursue damage-site-centered administration so that all staff can be deployed to substantive recovery activities. Additionally, emergency executive meetings held in the morning are being held 30 minutes to one hour earlier than usual.
