Hwaseong Special Municipality to Transition to Four-District System from February Next Year

[Suwon Ilbo=Park Chan-hyuk Reporter] Hwaseong Special Municipality will transition to a four-district office system from February next year to realize citizen-centered administration.

By dispersing administrative functions that were previously concentrated at city hall by region, citizens are expected to receive faster and more convenient administrative services.

The city decided to introduce the district office system to enhance administrative efficiency and accessibility as population surges rapidly and the city expands, leading to diversified administrative demands.

The newly established district offices are △Manseh District, △Hyohaeng District, △Byeongjeom District, and △Dongtan District, for a total of four, and will be distributed by region considering local characteristics and citizen accessibility.

First, Manseh District Office will administer the western region of Hwaseong and includes 10 eup, myeon, and dong including Hyangnami-eup, Ujeong-eup, Namyang-eup, Mado-myeon, Songsan-myeon, Seoshin-myeon, Jangan-myeon, Yanggam-myeon, Paltan-myeon, and Saesol-dong. The temporary office will be located at 470 Hyangnam-ro at the Hwaseong Comprehensive Sports Park, and a branch office will also be established near city hall.

Hyohaeng District Office will handle the central and northern regions centered on Bongdam-eup, including Maesong-myeon, Bibong-myeon, Jeongnam-myeon, and Gibae-dong. The temporary office will use a leased building at 51-1, Buuncheon-ri, Bongdam-eup.

Byeongjeom District Office will provide administrative services to the eastern urban area including Byeongjeom 1·2-dong, Hwasan-dong, Jinan-dong, and Banwol-dong, and will use the currently operating East Branch Office (23 Byeongjeom 3-ro) as a temporary office.

Dongtan District Office will administer all of Dongtan, from Dongtan 1-dong through Dongtan 9-dong, and will actively respond to administrative demands in the highly populated Dongtan area. The temporary office will be established at the Dongtan Branch Office (122 Dongtan Station-ro).

By distributing district offices in consideration of regional characteristics and administrative demands, the city plans to ensure that all citizens can enjoy swift and convenient administrative services at nearby locations. In the future, the city will conduct citizen opinion surveys and feasibility studies and plans to build new dedicated office buildings for each district.

Mayor Jung Myung-geun stated, "The establishment of district offices is not merely a reform of administrative structure, but the beginning of close-knit administrative services that bring us closer to each and every citizen," and added, "We will continue to solidify the foundation for balanced urban development and citizen-centered administration."
