Icheon City Awards Six Outstanding Proactive Administration Public Officials in First Half of 2025
[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong Reporter] Icheon City announced on the 8th that it awarded six public officials selected as '2025 First Half Outstanding Proactive Administration Public Officials' at the City Hall Conference Room on the 5th.
The awards ceremony selected a total of six outstanding cases and 21 excellent public officials through departmental recommendations and evaluation. At the awards ceremony on that day, six representatives from each outstanding case received the Mayor's Award.
The selected outstanding cases are: △(Top Award) 'The Beginning of a New Camping Destination (Bokha Stream Waterfront Park Development Project)' by the Parks and Greenery Division's Son Chung-ho and four others, △(Excellent) 'Birth of Icheon City's First Public Parking Lots Nos. 1 and 2 Through Private Collaboration' (Traffic Policy Division, Lee Su-a and four others) △(Excellent) 'Public Transportation Renaissance Project! Innovative City Bus Reorganization' (Traffic Policy Division, Song Seung-jun and two others) △(Encouragement Award) 'Gyeonggi-type Science High School New Designation Application, Icheon City Final Selection' (Citizen Education Support Division, Song Mi-na and one other) △(Encouragement Award) 'More Childbirth Benefits for More Mothers! Relaxed Standards for Out-of-Pocket Payment Support' (Health Center Health Promotion Division, Lee Su-jin and two others), △(Encouragement Award) 'Securing Golden Time for Incidents and Accidents and Improving Civil Service Through One-Stop Integrated CCTV Image Information Provision' (Information and Communication Division, Park Yeon-ju and four others).
The recipients achieved results in various fields including improving citizens' quality of life and strengthening citizen safety nets, and were particularly recognized for proactively addressing citizen inconveniences.
Mayor Kim Kyung-hee stated, "By meeting citizens closely at the front lines and working through challenges together, and by seeking the best solutions even within the constraints of regulations and systems with enthusiasm, you have realized citizen-centered administration," and added, "I hope that proactive administration will take root in Icheon's civil service culture going forward and create changes that citizens can feel."
