[Suwon Ilbo=Eom In-yong] Namyangju City announced on the 12th that it has selected five recipients for the '31st Namyangju Citizen Award.'
The Namyangju Citizen Award is the city's most prestigious award, presented to citizens who have worked to advance the city's development and status in their respective fields while inheriting the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong.
The city previously received recommendations for 20 citizens across five categories—social service, culture and arts, industry and economy, health and environment, and education and sports promotion—from July 4 to August 18. The final five recipients were selected through deliberation by the Citizen Award Selection Committee.
The recipients are △Social Service: Yu Gil-moon (66, male) △Culture and Arts: Lee Sang-ho (57, male) △Industry and Economy: Han Sung-woo (66, male) △Health and Environment: Namgung Wan (71, male) △Education and Sports Promotion: Park Byeong-sam (55, male).
Meanwhile, the city plans to present the Citizen Award at the '31st Citizens Day Commemorative Ceremony' to be held on the 30th at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center Indoor Gymnasium.
Mayor Ju Gwang-deok stated, "I deeply appreciate the dedication of citizens who have quietly committed themselves to the development of Namyangju," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to actively discover and honor unsung contributors in our local community."
