Suwon Concludes '1st Gwanggyo Quantum Bio Summit'... Adopts 'Gwanggyo Joint Declaration'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jeong Junseong] The '1st Gwanggyo Quantum Bio Summit' held by Suwon Special City at Suwon Convention Center closed on the 24th.

The summit, held from the 22nd to 24th, was a selected event for the '2025 Global K-Convention Fostering Project - Regional Signature International Conference' jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. Under the theme 'Beyond Bio, Connect Life,' it focused on the future of quantum, AI, and data-driven bio innovation.

Some 5,000 participants shared the latest research achievements at the opening panel discussion and academic sessions. At the 'G-BIVA Innovation Salon,' presentations of Silicon Valley cases and networking activities were held, and the digital healthcare platform featured smart diagnostic device demonstrations.

On the 24th, the city signed letters of intent with 10 bio companies located in Suwon's Economic Free Zone.

The closing ceremony was held on the 24th in Convention Hall 1. Major figures including Hwang Gyudon, head of Suwon's corporate attraction division, the president and MICE headquarters director of Suwon Convention Center, and representatives from Sungkyunkwan University, Ajou University, St. Vincent's Hospital, i-COOP, and the World Federation of United Nations Associations adopted the 'Gwanggyo Joint Declaration.'

The declaration includes △strengthening convergence research in quantum, AI, and bio △promoting global joint research and technology commercialization △fostering a sustainable innovation ecosystem. Representatives from various organizations signed the declaration.

Hwang Gyudon, head of Suwon's corporate attraction division, said, "The adoption of the joint declaration demonstrates an important achievement showing that Suwon can leap forward as a city centered on future strategic industries," and added, "We will expand the global innovation network and lay investment foundations to grow into a world-class bio hub through the signing of letters of intent."
