Suwon Urban Corporation Organizes Resource Circulation Council with Seven Metropolitan Agencies

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Lee Min-jung] Suwon Urban Corporation (President Heo Jung-moon) has stepped up efforts to actively respond to the rapidly changing public recycling market environment.

On the 30th, Suwon Urban Corporation held a launch ceremony for the 'Resource Circulation Council' at Daehampak with approximately 20 officials from seven agencies including Gunpo Urban Corporation, Ansan Urban Corporation, Yongin Urban Corporation, Siheung Urban Corporation, Yangju Urban Corporation, and Anseong Facilities Management Corporation, to jointly address household waste treatment challenges.

The Resource Circulation Council was established to enable effective response through cooperation between public institutions amid a rapidly changing market environment featuring fluctuating unit prices for recyclables and unstable supply and demand.

Previously, the seven agencies held an operating committee meeting in June to establish the council and conducted practical discussions to revitalize recycling sorting operations.

The council, which is the first to be established among local governments, plans to develop sustainable resource circulation policies by sharing expertise in recycling sorting and incineration facility operations as well as promoting related joint forums.

President Heo Jung-moon stated, "Through substantial operation of the council, we will discover advanced resource circulation policies and do our best to ensure they can be implemented in the field."
