[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Gapyeong County held a '2026 Major Initiatives Report Meeting' over two days from the 7th to 8th, where it shared achievements from 2025 projects, examined problems identified during implementation, and discussed improvement measures.
County Governor Seo Tae-won, along with Vice Governor Kim Mi-seong, department heads, and team leaders attended the meeting to listen to departmental work reports and continued with directives and question-and-answer sessions.
The county focused on closely examining the progress of each project through this report meeting and enhancing implementation capability over the remaining period.
The 2026 major project implementation plans include △successful hosting of the Gyeonggi Province Living Sports Grand Festival △Peace Economic Special Zone development △senior citizens welfare center construction △Cheongpyeong region children's play experience facility opening △Sangmyeon general industrial complex development △US and UK Federal Tourism Security Park development △Jara Island garden master plan establishment △Gapyeong County Talent Development Foundation operation.
In particular, since 2026 is the final year of the eighth civil administration, the county plans to strengthen management intensity to ensure campaign pledges and core policies are completed as planned, while concentrating administrative resources on inspection and supplementation to enhance the completion quality of project implementation beyond simple project promotion.
Shin Sung-chul, head of planning and budget, said, "Since this year is the final year of the eighth civil administration, we will manage all tasks more carefully and handle major projects with greater attention to detail so they can proceed without delay," adding "we will implement initiatives with responsibility until the end so that county residents can feel the overall achievements of county administration."
