Direct Bus Route 8303 Connecting Osan Segyo 1·2 Districts to Seongnam to Begin Operation Starting February 2

[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Park Chan-hyuk] Osan City announced on the 14th that direct express bus route 8303, which operates from Segyo 1·2 districts to Yatap Station in Seongnam, will officially begin operation starting at 6:30 a.m. on the 2nd of next month. An opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on January 30.

The newly established Route 8303 will have 2 buses deployed daily for a total of 8 runs. It is expected to significantly improve the convenience of residents in Osan, including those in Segyo 1·2 districts, for traveling to the southern part of the metropolitan area. In particular, the route is meaningful in that it was established in response to citizens' continued demands for a direct route to the Seongnam Pangyo and Yatap areas.

Bus Route 8303 departs from Hansin The Hue in Segyo District 2 and passes through △Osan Elementary School △Segyo District 2, 7th Complex △Hoban Summit Rapore, followed by the Segyo District 1 section including △Segyo Dolmen Park △Jukmi Village Entrance △Sema Middle and High School △Sema Station. It then travels to Seongnam and stops at Pangyo Station and Yatap Station in sequence.

The city has reviewed the necessity of expanding direct routes as the population in Segyo 1·2 districts increases and commute demand to major business districts in the southern metropolitan area such as Pangyo and Yatap continues to grow steadily.

With the operation of Bus Route 8303, the city expects to reduce the burden of transfers and shorten travel time.

Meanwhile, the city also worked to expand metropolitan transit to the Seongnam direction, including doubling the frequency of wide-area bus route 8301 to Yatap in Seongnam from 4 times to 8 times daily in July of last year.

Route 8301 is a major commute route connecting Osan and Seongnam, and citizen complaints about bus intervals had been raised. The city improved traffic conditions during rush hours through the addition of buses. The establishment of Route 8303 is also an extension of this trend toward expanding public transportation.

A city official stated, "The operation of direct bus Route 8303 will significantly improve the commute environment for citizens traveling between Osan and Seongnam," and added, "We will continue to expand public transportation routes while carefully reflecting citizens' needs."
