Guri City Inspects Water Pipe Freezing and Vulnerable Population Response Measures Following Cold Weather Alert

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] On the 19th, Guri City visited the Winter Water Supply Comprehensive Response Control Center established in the Water Supply Department to inspect the implementation status of cold weather disaster safety measures, following the nationwide issuance of a cold weather alert.

This on-site inspection was organized to minimize citizen inconvenience caused by the cold wave and establish a rapid response system, as forecasts indicate that temperatures below minus 10 degrees Celsius will persist for approximately 10 days in the Guri area.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun ordered swift recovery of water supply facilities such as water meters in the event of pipe freezing to minimize citizen inconvenience, and emphasized, "Centered on the Disaster Safety Response Headquarters, cold wave shelters such as senior centers and community halls must be thoroughly inspected, and careful management of welfare vulnerable populations must be implemented."

He further ordered, "Spare no effort in cold weather response so that no citizens are left behind during the harsh winter."
