Yeoju City Holds 2026 New Year Dialogue with Citizens in Sanbuk-myeon

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Yeoju City held a 'Dialogue with Citizens' in Sanbuk-myeon on the 21st to welcome the 2026 New Year.

The dialogue was attended by approximately 100 people, including Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City, National Assembly Chair Park Du-hyung of Yeoju City Council, Vice Chair Kim Kyou-chang of Gyeonggi Province Council, city and provincial council members, heads of institutions and organizations in Sanbuk-myeon, and local residents.

This dialogue with citizens was organized to share the direction of municipal and township administration with residents and to explain the progress on various suggestions received to date.

The event proceeded with explanations of major municipal issues and key projects in Yeoju City, followed by briefings on issues and administration status in the Sanbuk-myeon area.

Subsequently, the city provided detailed explanations of implementation progress and future plans regarding suggestions proposed by residents, demonstrating its commitment to improving citizens' quality of life through municipal administration.

Major suggestions included △construction of a new office building in Sanbuk-myeon △remodeling of public buildings △release of agricultural promotion areas △expansion of multipurpose rooms △relaunch of road compensation projects for non-designated roads in the area △maintenance of traffic safety signs and bus stops △installation of pedestrian bridges near Yongdam-ri희망 Bridge, and others.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo said, "Dialogue with citizens is a meaningful occasion to directly hear the voices of the field," adding "We will carefully review the opinions you have suggested and create changes that citizens can feel."
