Icheon Ranks First in Gyeonggi Province for Young Successor Farmer Selection for Fourth Consecutive Year

[Suwon Ilbo=Um In-yong Reporter] Icheon City announced on the 22nd that it has achieved first place in young successor farmer selection in Gyeonggi Province for four consecutive years, continuing to achieve stable results in the field of young farmer development.

This achievement is the result of consistent administrative support to help young farmers with their initial settlement and field-focused customized guidance.

The city operates various customized support programs to help young successor farmers overcome initial challenges in farming and settle stably in regional agriculture.

In particular, the city is implementing the 'Young Farmer (Young Farm) Settlement Support Fund' project, which for the first time nationwide provides additional settlement support funds to young farmers, and systematically supports the strengthening of young farmers' capabilities through regular agricultural education, network building, and on-site consulting.

This effort is significant in that it goes beyond mere selection results and leads to the continuation of farming by young farmers and improved settlement rates in the region.

Additionally, the Icheon City Agricultural Technology Center was selected as an outstanding institution for young farmer development—the only one among agricultural technology centers nationwide.

Jung Hyun-suk, Director of Agricultural Promotion Division, stated, "It is important to help young successor farmers accurately understand the system and settle stably in the early stages of farming," and added, "We will continue to provide field-focused support and communication so that young successor farmers can grow as important workforce in regional agriculture."
