[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-seong] Hwaseong Special City held an opening ceremony at the Hyohaeng-gu District Office in Bongdam-eup on the 6th, announcing the official launch of Hyohaeng-gu District. With this, the city now has all four general districts in place, which took effect on the 1st, and has begun full-scale operation of a community-centered administrative system.

The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 200 participants, including Mayor Jung Myung-geun, City Council Speaker Bae Jeong-su, National Assembly Member Kwon Chil-seung, Gyeonggi Province Vice Governor for Administration Kim Dae-soon, provincial and city council members, heads of local organizations and institutions, and residents' representatives, celebrating the launch of Hyohaeng-gu District.

The opening ceremony proceeded with a report on the progress of the general district establishment initiative, followed by a commemorative video screening of the district office opening, memorial addresses and congratulatory remarks, commendation of contributors, an opening performance, and a plaque unveiling ceremony.

Hyohaeng-gu, located in the central area of Hwaseong City, oversees Bongdam-eup, Maesong-myeon, Bibong-myeon, Jeongnam-myeon, and Gibae-dong, serving a residential area of approximately 160,000 people.

The Hyohaeng-gu District Office, as a community-centered administrative hub that handles civil complaints, welfare, transportation, environment, and other administrative affairs closely related to residents' daily lives at the district level, will operate a system for providing customized administrative services tailored to local conditions.

Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "Hyohaeng-gu is a region with well-established educational infrastructure including universities and lifelong education facilities, and as a hub for central area administrative services, we will provide prompt and convenient administrative services close to citizens' daily lives. The launch of Hyohaeng-gu District Office today is an inspiring moment marking the beginning of Hwaseong's new administrative history, and we will continue to pursue warm administration that carefully considers the lives of our citizens."
