Gwacheon City Launches Full-Scale Operations of Elderly Employment and Social Activity Support Program

[Suwon Ilbo=You Je-sung Reporter] On the 6th, Gwacheon City announced the full-scale operation of its elderly employment and social activity support program by conducting preparatory training for participants, focusing on activity details and accident prevention measures.

This year's Gwacheon City elderly employment and social activity support program will implement 18 projects across 3 sectors, including public institution operational support, senior centers support, educational facility operations support, subway safety management support, and 'Silver Cafe' operations. Some 300 senior citizens will participate, supplementing public services at administrative facilities, welfare facilities, and educational institutions while serving roles to support residents' daily safety and convenience.

In promoting this year's program, the city is placing emphasis on having seniors contribute their expertise and experience to the community, while focusing on reducing economic burden through reasonable working hours and appropriate activity allowances, and adding vitality to daily life. In particular, activities centered on public institutions and multi-use facilities are expected to enhance resident convenience and strengthen community safety.
