Korean Government Labor Union's Namyangju Chapter Begins Fourth Term: "Change Through Participation, Future Through Innovation"

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] The inauguration and transfer ceremony for the fourth-term chapter head of the Korean Government Labor Union's Namyangju Chapter took place on the 6th at Yeoyudang in Namyangju City Hall.

The ceremony gathered the intentions of approximately 2,500 union members and was held to announce the launch of the fourth-term Namyangju Chapter and to share the labor union's values of responsibility, solidarity, participation, and innovation.

The event was attended by approximately 70 key guests including Namyangju Vice Mayor Kim Sang-su, City Council Vice Chair and council members, heads of municipal departments and offices, new Chapter Head Koh Young-seon, outgoing Chapter Head Kim Yong-yeon, the senior deputy chair of the Korean Government Labor Union, and executives from labor unions in other cities and counties.

The ceremony proceeded in the following order: △opening ceremony △activity report △presentation of appreciation plaques △outgoing remarks △flag transfer △oath of office and inaugural remarks △congratulatory addresses. Outgoing Chapter Head Kim Yong-yeon reflected on activities over the past two years and expressed his efforts to maintain balance between union members and city administration.

Newly inaugurated Chapter Head Koh Young-seon stated, "I will adopt as core values a labor union that creates change through participation and opens the future through innovation," and pledged, "I will fulfill my role so that the voices of union members lead to tangible changes in the workplace."

Vice Mayor Kim Sang-su conveyed through his remarks, "I will place the values of trust and mutual prosperity at the center of administration, and will do my utmost to improve working conditions and welfare with an attitude of jointly considering and resolving issues in the field."
