Icheon City Screens Congratulatory Videos from Sister Cities on 30th Anniversary of City Status

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Icheon City announced on the 14th that it will screen congratulatory videos from its sister and friendly cities abroad to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its city status.

The congratulatory videos were prepared to share the significance of the 30th anniversary of city status with the international community and to reflect on the achievements of exchanges and cooperation that have continued over the years.

The videos will be shown on the media board in City Hall from February 23 to March 2, and a total of 14 representatives from 6 cities in 4 countries participated in the congratulatory videos.

Sister cities including △Seto, Japan △Santa Fe, USA △Limoges, France △Jingdezhen, China, as well as friendly cities △Santa Clara, USA △Wuxi, China sent their messages.

Led by congratulatory remarks from the Mayor of Seto, a sister city in Japan, the mayors of Santa Fe in the USA and the Deputy Mayor of Limoges in France emphasized friendship between the cities.

From Santa Clara in the USA, the mayor, city council members, and vice president of the sister city association sent their congratulations, and officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Jingdezhen and Wuxi in China participated in the video, expressing their commitment to continued cooperation.

Representatives from each city congratulated Icheon City on its 30th anniversary of city status through the videos and highly evaluated the achievements of exchanges in various fields including culture, economy, and education.

They also conveyed their hopes that cooperation and development will continue in the future based on mutual trust and friendship.

The city has been promoting various international exchange projects with sister and friendly cities abroad including youth exchanges, cultural and artistic exchanges, and cooperation in administrative and industrial sectors. The screening of these congratulatory videos is expected to serve as an opportunity to reminisce about the international friendship built over the past 30 years and to pledge a new leap toward the next 30 years.
