Kim Dong-yeon Restarts 'Daldaltur,' Grassroots Economy Field Tour
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kim Gap-dong] Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon is launching the grassroots economy field tour, nicknamed 'Daldaltur,' to visit every corner of the province, check on provincial policy issues, and listen to the voices of residents.
The province announced on the 23rd that Governor Kim will embark on the grassroots economy field tour, dubbed 'Daldaltur,' starting with Namyangju on Feb. 25 through Apr. 3.
While the previous field visits proceeded under the slogan 'Everywhere we go, things change,' this time the slogan has been changed to 'We keep going until things change' to further emphasize the determination to resolve livelihood issues.
The overall focus has also shifted from the previous emphasis on visiting cities and counties to centering on core economic and livelihood issues. The plan is to present practical and effective solutions.
Governor Kim will travel via the 'Daldalbus' to major policy sites or areas with municipal issues within the province to communicate with residents about the province's representative policies and discuss implementation strategies. The tour will be operated in various formats including town hall meetings, parliamentary forums, and resident consultations.
Through this, the province will present implementable solutions through institutional improvements, budget linkages, and inter-agency cooperation, and will pursue continuous customized support and management for civil complaints and suggestions received in the field.
The first destination is Namyangju City, where a field visit focusing on 'public housing' will take place on Feb. 25.
Governor Kim will hold a resident consultation at Gyeonggi Unity in Dasan-dong, Namyangju, and announce the vision for Gyeonggi Province-style public housing and aging new towns and revitalized original urban centers. Along with the Gyeonggi Province-style public housing supply plan aligned with the government's housing supply, the 'G Remodeling All-Care' model that integrates housing and welfare caring for all generations—infants, parents, elderly, and youth—will be unveiled. Governor Kim will then visit the Toegyewon redevelopment and remodeling project site to explain the 'G Remodeling All-Care' support system and implementation direction to local residents.
The second visit will take place in Yongin City two days later on the 27th, focusing on 'semiconductors.' A 'K-Semiconductor Mega-Cluster Win-Win Town Hall Meeting' will be held at Dankook University. Some 100 participants are expected to attend, including members of parliament, local government officials, representatives from companies such as Samsung and SK Hynix, small and medium suppliers, semiconductor department professors and students, and local residents.
At this meeting, the province will listen to business difficulties and conflict issues and present the 'Semiconductor All-Care' policy to take one more step toward completing the Gyeonggi Province-style semiconductor cluster. Governor Kim will then visit semiconductor parts and materials supplier companies to inspect semiconductor equipment and hold entrepreneur consultations.
Prior to the field visits, a sendoff ceremony will be held on the 24th at the Gwanggyo Civic Building site to announce the restart. A newly wrapped Daldalbus will be on display, and Governor Kim will explain his resolve and the purpose of resuming grassroots economy field visits.
Director of Autonomy and Administration Cho Byung-rae said, "This grassroots economy field tour demonstrates that Governor Kim Dong-yeon will directly visit livelihood sites and resolve tasks firsthand. It's about serving as a problem-solver on the ground, not just in words," adding "By focusing on economic and livelihood issues, the goal is to realize effective and good policies that benefit residents' lives in cooperation with the people of Gyeonggi Province."
Meanwhile, Governor Kim conducted a grassroots economy field tour from Aug. 20 last year through Jan. 28 this year, visiting all 31 cities and counties in the province over a five-month period. The tour covered approximately 3,200 kilometers and allowed the governor to connect with some 6,400 residents.
