Hwaseong Special City Compiles First Supplementary Budget of 190.2 Billion Won...Total Scale of 3.94 Trillion Won

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Hwaseong Special City announced on the 5th that it has compiled the "2026 First Supplementary Budget Plan" and submitted it to the city council.

This supplementary budget plan was compiled under the principle of "livelihood-focused supplementary budget that embraces citizens' daily lives," with an increase of 190.2 billion won compared to the 2026 original budget, bringing the total scale to 3.94 trillion won. This represents a 5.07% increase over the original budget.

Major projects in the budget include △40 billion won in cash investment to Hwaseong City Development Corporation for development of the third new city △8 billion won for citizen priority projects △16.5 billion won for livelihood stabilization measures including welfare △11.5 billion won for road expansion and resurfacing △9.6 billion won for stable operation of four newly established districts that opened on February 1.

Additionally, to prevent citizen disasters and eliminate safety blind spots, the budget reflects △3.4 billion won for child protection zone improvement projects △3.2 billion won for small stream maintenance △1.1 billion won for Jebu Island tail path redevelopment △1 billion won for road resurfacing construction at the Dontan area bus public garage access △1.4 billion won for comprehensive maintenance of the Hwanggye District wind and flood damage living area.

This supplementary budget plan is scheduled for final confirmation on April 1 following the Hwaseong City Council's 249th interim session, which will open on the 16th.

Mayor Jung Myung-geun stated, "Through this supplementary budget, we will promptly carry out key projects closely related to citizens' lives, and further strengthen the foundation for balanced regional development and livelihood stabilization."
