Gapyeong County Volunteer Center Holds 2026 Family Volunteer Group Orientation

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] The Gapyeong County Volunteer Center (Director Lee Myung-yeol) held the 2026 Family Volunteer Group Orientation on the 28th in the conference room on the 3rd floor of Gapyeong County Government Building, marking the start of full-scale activities.

The orientation proceeded with an overview of the family volunteer group's purpose and operational direction, followed by sharing annual activity plans and introducing participating families. It served as an occasion to strengthen the volunteer group's cohesion through communication and exchange among families.

In particular, the 2026 Family Volunteer Group activities will be operated mainly around experiential volunteer work that families can participate in together.

Main activities include making rice cakes and flower baskets, baking pastries, making air-purifying plants and making mosquito repellent spray, making songpyeon, making dumplings, and recognizing outstanding families. The activities will target beneficiaries including elderly living alone, grandparent-headed households, and vulnerable groups, bringing warm changes to the community through various sharing activities.

Additionally, before the volunteer group activities, an orientation was held to inform participants of annual operational schedules and activity precautions, introduce participating families to greet one another, and conclude the orientation in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the Gapyeong County Volunteer Center's Family Volunteer Group currently has 36 families with 142 participants joining in 2026, and plans to lead the way in spreading a sharing culture in the local community through various volunteer activities throughout the year.

Lee Myung-yeol, Director of the Gapyeong County Volunteer Center, stated, "Volunteer activities carried out together as a family become a precious opportunity to learn the meaning of sharing and communicate with one another," adding, "We hope you will join us in conveying warmth to the community and creating a happy Gapyeong where everyone is content through the family volunteer group activities."
