Suwon Convention Center Confirmed as Official Host Venue for '2027 Amway China Leadership Seminar'

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-seong] Suwon Convention Center has successfully secured the hosting of '2027 Amway China Leadership Seminar,' a global corporate incentive tourism event.

The Suwon Convention Bureau announced, "After fierce competition for the hosting rights, Suwon Convention Center has been confirmed as the official venue for the event."

In January, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) secured the 2027 Amway China Leadership Seminar for Korea, with Suwon and Seoul confirmed as the primary host cities. This exemplifies the heightened competitiveness of South Korea and Suwon in the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) industry.

Suwon City and Suwon Convention Bureau succeeded in attracting the event through the 'Corporate Customized Premium Service' strategy based on Suwon's distinctive infrastructure.

The operational plan that organically combined the historical significance of Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the competitive modern facilities of Suwon Convention Center, and urban infrastructure including Gwanggyo Lake Park and the International Convention Complex received high evaluations.

The 2027 Amway China Leadership Seminar will be held from late February to early March 2027. Participants will attend business conferences and gala dinners at Suwon Convention Center and participate in experience programs linked to major tourism resources in Suwon and Seoul.

The event, which will draw approximately 15,000 participants, is a high-value-added incentive tourism event that generates consumption across all sectors including accommodation, dining, shopping, transportation, and tourism. It is expected to generate approximately 77 billion won in economic ripple effects.

The event will be promoted as a representative international event linked with the '2026-2027 Suwon Visit Year.' Suwon City plans to cooperate with Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to operate stay-type programs utilizing regional tourism resources such as Suwon Hwaseong, Haengridangil Street, and Gwanggyo Lake Park, and will work to further enhance Suwon's image as an 'International Tourism Destination Worth Revisiting.'

A city official stated, "This success in attracting the event is the fruit of international conference infrastructure, cultural and tourism assets, and close cooperation among related agencies," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure this becomes a successful international event that widely publicizes the city brand to the world and injects substantial vitality into the local economy."
