[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Um In-yong] Guri City announced it will operate a participatory tourism program ‘Wow! Guri 3GO Exploration’ that citizens and tourists can enjoy together on the 11th and 12th of this month.

This event utilizes Guri City’s representative character ‘Waguuri’ to combine visits to major tourist attractions with the use of local businesses through an experiential program centered on the ‘3GO’ concept: △enjoying tourist attractions, △experiencing food, and △receiving benefits.

Participants can visit major tourist attractions such as △Jangja Lake Park and Donggureung Royal Tombs to upload authentication photos to social media (SNS), use △restaurants, cafes, and shops in Guri City, and then visit a booth operated in Jangja Lake Park to receive tourism souvenirs after a verification process.

In particular, tiered benefits are provided based on the amount spent at local businesses.

When spending 30,000 won or more, a ‘Waguuri keychain (choice of 2 types)’ is given, and when spending 50,000 won or more, a ‘Waguuri face cushion’ is provided. Souvenirs are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and will close early if stock runs out.

The city expects this event to function as a participatory program linking tourism and consumption to attract visits from citizens and tourists, and to also contribute to revitalizing the local business community.

Meanwhile, detailed information about the event can be found on the Guri City website or through the Culture and Arts Division (☎031-550-8355).

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun said, “Guri 3GO Exploration is a participatory tourism model for enjoying and consuming in the local community,” and added, “Through events utilizing Waguuri fan merchandise, we expect to increase on-site participation and provide practical assistance to the local business community.”
