[Suwon Ilbo=Park Chan-hyeok Reporter] Osan City publicly unveiled for the first time the musical fountain being constructed at Serang Reservoir.
On the 2nd, the city held a demonstration ceremony for the musical fountain at Serang Reservoir, inspecting the overall facilities ahead of full operation while introducing the new waterfront space to residents.
The musical fountain commenced in February of this year and is nearing completion this month. It is a key facility for transforming Serang Reservoir into a representative nighttime landscape destination in the urban area.
The musical fountain was constructed at a scale of 57m in length and 8m in width. It is a complex water feature facility combining various fountain expressions synchronized with music and LED lighting, centered around high-arc water jets that reach up to 100m in height. The city aims to expand its utilization as a space where residents can linger and enjoy, going beyond simple scenery.
At the demonstration ceremony attended by local residents and officials, fountains changing to the rhythm of music and splendid lighting were displayed, drawing the attention of citizens at the scene. Particularly after dusk, scenes combining light and water were created, previewing a new nighttime landscape for Serang Reservoir.
The construction of this musical fountain is expected to create synergistic effects by connecting with the existing Serang Reservoir walking trail. The waterfront space, which had previously faced some discontinuities in certain sections and inconveniences for nighttime use, is now being expanded into a space that can be enjoyed both day and night through the expansion of landscape facilities.
Additionally, Serang Reservoir is located at a point connected to nearby tourist resources such as Doksan Fortress Sema Platform and the Oesaek Dulle-gil trail, and is expected to serve as a hub linking the region's future tourism flow. The city plans to increase the duration of stay in the waterfront space centered on the musical fountain and simultaneously strengthen citizen leisure space and tourism functions.
A city official said, "Serang Reservoir's musical fountain is a facility designed to allow citizens to experience a space where nature and culture harmonize in their daily lives," adding, "Through stable operation, we will manage it so that it becomes a comfortable urban rest space that anyone can easily visit."
