Guri City Launches Dedicated Task Force for Guri Topyeong 2 Public Housing District

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Um In-yong] Guri City held the 'Guri Topyeong 2 Public Housing District Development Project Task Force Meeting' on the 16th, chaired by Deputy Mayor Um Jin-seop, and discussed inter-departmental collaboration systems and implementation directions to respond to future district planning.

The city organized task force meetings in four sectors—△landmark buildings △self-sufficiency activation △regional transportation △land acquisition—with the deputy mayor as head of the promotion group, and plans to share departmental matters through weekly meetings and prepare response measures.

At the meeting, presentations on current issues and Q&A sessions were conducted by relevant departments, centered on the representative building sector (multipurpose dome stadium, Jangja Lake Park and Saetgang River) and self-sufficiency activation sector.

In particular, diverse opinions were presented on the necessity of establishing a multipurpose dome stadium, directions for waterfront space utilization linked to green areas, and industrial and urban planning strategies to secure self-sufficiency functions.

In connection with this, the contractor for the 'master plan and basic design service' related to district planning commissioned by LH is expected to be selected in April, and MP meetings are anticipated to commence in May, so full-scale district planning procedures are expected to be promoted in the second half of the year.

Deputy Mayor Um Jin-seop said, "Through this meeting, we must share current issues from each department and develop them into concrete implementation plans."

He added, "For the Guri Topyeong 2 Public Housing District to grow into a self-sufficient city beyond simple housing supply, continuous logical development and preemptive responses are necessary to ensure that the city's strategies are sufficiently reflected in the district planning consultation process with LH."
