Sung Su-seok's Icheon Mayor Transition Committee Officially Launches
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Um In-yong] The Icheon Mayor Transition Committee, which will support President-elect Sung Su-seok's vision for the 9th term of local government, officially launched on the 11th.
The 9th term Icheon Mayor Transition Committee held a committee member appointment ceremony and unveiling ceremony on the morning of the 11th, and began full-scale activities to concretize the 9th term city administration vision and policy tasks.
The transition committee is composed of 15 transition committee members including experts from various fields and civic society figures, and will operate across 3 divisions: △Administration, Welfare & Education (4 members), △Industry, Economy & Environment (5 members), △Urban Development, Housing & Culture (4 members).
Additionally, 8 advisory members will participate to provide expert consultation on major policy tasks and methods for implementing campaign promises.
Operating for a maximum of 40 days until the 20th of next month, the committee will focus on establishing the 9th term's city administration goals and concretizing the operational direction of city administration overall. It is essentially the first stage in designing Icheon City's priorities and core projects for the next four years.
Seo Hak-won, a member of the Icheon City Council, was appointed as the chairman of the transition committee, and Im Song-man, head of Icheon Citizens Thought Naru, was appointed as vice chairman.
Additionally, Choi Hyung-geun, director of the Icheon Regional Development Research Institute, was appointed as the advisory committee chairman, and Choi Seok-jae, secretary-general of the Democratic Party (education commentator), was appointed as spokesperson, leading the operation of the transition committee.
Committee members include △Noh Kwang-seop, certified public accountant △Kim Eun-mi, chairman of Icheon City School Operating Committee Federation △Han Chang-hwan, attorney at law firm Hanbit △Park Jung-suk, director of Denurim Day Care Center △Lee Young-geun, senior vice chairman of Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Icheon-Yeoju Branch △Kim Dong-sik, adjunct professor at Korea Engineering University △Yang Young-sook, researcher at Gyeonggi Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute △Park Yo-anna, CEO of Speed Icheon Charging Station △Lee Su-chan, head of Management Division at Icheon Livestock Cooperative △Yu Jae-sang, Transportation Planning Division at UTS Technology Co., Ltd. △Seo Min-jung, member of Seoul Jung-gu Public Design Promotion Committee △Ryu Jeong-yeol, professor at Korea Tourism University Hotel Culinary Arts Department △Kim Eul-rim, CEO of Architecture Firm Soop, and others.
Advisory members include △Ahn Seon-jun, politician △Seo Jun-yong, eco-friendly agricultural product distributor △Choi Bo-young, culture and tourism marketer △Shin Seung-sik, CEO of Seuram Savings Bank △Lee Jong-soo, SME representative △Park Se-gyeong, social economy committee chairman of Democratic Party Icheon Regional Committee, and others, who are expected to contribute their expertise and on-site experience to establishing a policy roadmap for the successful launch of the 9th term city administration.
