Hwaseong Dongtan 2 New City Rapid Bus Routes M4130 and M4137 to Increase Weekend Service

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Jung Jun-sung] Hwaseong Special City announced on June 23 that it will implement increased weekend service on rapid bus routes (M-bus) M4130 and M4137 to enhance public transportation convenience for residents on weekends.

The city will expand weekend vehicle count and service frequency on both routes starting June 27 to respond to increased transportation demand from weekend visits to Seoul, cultural and leisure activities, and family outings, as well as to reduce the inconvenience of prolonged waits at bus stops due to summer heat waves.

The increased service will shorten weekend intervals, reducing passenger wait times and providing more convenient and comfortable public transportation service. In particular, transportation convenience for residents traveling to major Seoul downtown areas such as Seoul Station and Myeongdong is expected to improve, and it is anticipated to help alleviate weekend traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, the city plans to add nine double-decker wide-body buses for regional routes this year to expand seating capacity, and plans to operate two additional circulating bus routes (F and G, 5 vehicles, 50 trips) to improve accessibility to Dongtan Station.

Currently, Dongtan Station circulating buses have been operating five routes (A through E) with 17 vehicles providing 219 trips daily since January 26.
