Yeoju City Operates 'Mobile Citizen Ombudsman' with National Integrity Commission

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Eom In-yong] Yeoju City announced on the 25th that it successfully operated the '2026 Yeoju City Customized Mobile Citizen Ombudsman,' an on-site civil complaint counseling service hosted by the National Integrity Commission and organized by Yeoju City, at the Jung-dong Administrative Welfare Center.

The 'Mobile Citizen Ombudsman' is an on-site civil complaint resolution service through which the National Integrity Commission, in collaboration with relevant agencies, dispatches specialized investigators from various fields to visit communities, listen to grievances, and provide counseling.

This ombudsman program was conducted targeting local residents and vulnerable groups who previously faced difficulties accessing civil complaint counseling due to time and geographical constraints or lack of information.

The counseling session focused on not only objections to general administrative dispositions but also credit recovery-related counseling with the Credit Recovery Committee and the Korean Council of Social Welfare serving as cooperating agencies, and counseling for welfare-vulnerable groups outside the institutional system. In particular, a large number of welfare grievances from vulnerable groups who found it difficult to resolve matters independently were received, garnering significant positive response.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo stated, "I express deep gratitude to the citizens who made the effort to participate in this 'Mobile Citizen Ombudsman' program," and added, "Through this counseling, we will examine the types of civil complaints that emerged and implement more comprehensive and effective civil complaint and audit administration in Yeoju City."
