Ganghwa County Mayor Park Yong-cheol Requests Support for Key Projects from Incheon Mayor Park Chan-dae
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Choi Ki-ho] Ganghwa County Mayor Park Yong-cheol attended the first Incheon Metropolitan City policy meeting of mayors and district chiefs on the 20th and requested that new Incheon Mayor Park Chan-dae provide support for key projects aimed at securing Ganghwa County's future growth engines and improving residents' quality of life.
On this day, Mayor Park said, “I sincerely congratulate the new Incheon mayor on his inauguration,” adding, “I hope that under the new city administration, Incheon will develop further, and that Ganghwa County can also lay the groundwork for a new leap forward based on close cooperation with Incheon City.”
Mayor Park then explained the key pending projects requiring Incheon City's active interest and support for Ganghwa County's sustainable development and improvement of residents' settlement conditions, and requested cooperation.
The main contents of the proposal delivered that day included: △the establishment of a new Ganghwa–Seoul Station M-bus metropolitan express route △the expansion of eligibility for the farmers' and fishers' allowance △support for the repair and reinforcement project of Kimchon Reservoir △support for the construction of a living culture center in the southern Ganghwa region △the promotion of designating the southern Ganghwa Free Economic Zone △the designation of a Peace Economic Special Zone △and the revision of the 'Seoul Metropolitan Area Readjustment Planning Act.'
The county plans to continue policy coordination going forward to resolve key issues and secure future growth engines, based on a close cooperative system with Incheon City.
Mayor Park Yong-cheol said, “Expanding the metropolitan transportation network, creating living SOC, and improving agricultural infrastructure are important projects that residents directly experience in their daily lives,” adding, “I ask for Incheon City's continued financial support and policy cooperation so that key projects can proceed without setbacks.”
