Gwacheon City Opens Temporary Water Play Area in Galhyeon-dong on the 25th

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Yu Je-sung] Gwacheon City held an opening ceremony on the 25th for the temporary water play area in the Knowledge Information Town in Galhyeon-dong (846 Galhyeon-dong) and began full-scale operations.

The temporary water play area in Galhyeon-dong will operate free of charge for 24 days until August 17 and, along with the water play area in Munwon Sports Park, provides residents with nearby summer water play spaces.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Shin Gye-yong, Choi Ki-sik, chairman of the Uiwang-Gwacheon Party, Kim Hyun-seok, provincial councilor, Hwang Sun-hee, Gwacheon City Council chairman and councilors, and local residents. Various pre-event programs including bubble shows, magic shows, and face painting were also provided, offering enjoyable experiences for children and families.

The temporary water play area, built near the Galhyeon-dong Administrative Welfare Center, features pools and water slides for elementary and young children, as well as convenient facilities including changing rooms, shower facilities, and a medical office. Shaded areas and cooling zones have been installed to allow visitors to rest while escaping the heat. The water play area operates free of charge.

Reservations for next week's use are accepted every Monday through a dedicated website (https://kidsfunseasons.com). The facility is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance and inspections.

During the operating period, the city plans to deploy safety personnel and carefully manage facility inspections, water quality, and emergency response systems to create a safe water play environment where residents can use the facilities with confidence.
