Suwon Special City Conducts Risk Assessment of 37 Public Facilities

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) has conducted a risk assessment of 37 public facilities.

From May to July, a specialized agency carried out a risk assessment service targeting public facilities such as contracted worksites, libraries, administrative welfare centers, and staff cafeterias, supporting departments that have faced difficulties on-site due to a lack of safety management expertise since the enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

The 'risk assessment' is a key system for establishing a self-regulated prevention framework in line with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's roadmap for reducing serious accidents. Through this risk assessment, Suwon City focused on identifying and managing major risk factors that could cause serious accidents such as suffocation, fire and explosion, falls, and overturning.

On the 11th, Suwon City held the '2026 Suwon City Risk Assessment Results Briefing' in the main conference room of the Suwon City Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market, sharing the results of the risk assessment of 37 public facilities with about 120 people including supervisory managers.

Suwon City plans to continue its efforts to raise the safety awareness of supervisory managers so that it leads to practical accident prevention.

An official from Suwon City said, "We held the results briefing so that supervisory managers can clearly recognize on-site risk factors and strengthen their capacity to prevent serious accidents," adding, "Serious accidents can be prevented when the obligations for safety and health measures under the Occupational Safety and Health Act are thoroughly fulfilled."
