Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) is recruiting participating farms for the "2026 Hwaseong Special City Shine Muscat Competition with Producers" from the 24th to 28th, a five-day period, to encourage high-quality Shine Muscat production and discover outstanding farms.
Eligible applicants are Shine Muscat cultivation farms within Hwaseong Special City. Farms wishing to participate can apply by visiting the Fruit Excellence Business Division (92 Sakang-ro, Songsan-myeon) at the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center during the application period.
Application forms can be downloaded from the Hwaseong Special City Hall website's municipal information section or the Hwaseong City Agricultural Technology Center website notices, or applicants can use forms available at the Fruit Excellence Business Division. The application deadline is 6 p.m. on the 28th.
The city will conduct a three-stage screening process for applicant farms to select "Hwaseong Special City's Premier Fruit, Shine Muscat TOP 5." After selecting 30 farms through the first-stage farm evaluation, the city will select five finalists through a second-stage measurement screening and third-stage appearance evaluation.
The finally selected farms will have the opportunity to exhibit and promote their produced fruit at the fruit exhibition held at the Fruit Excellence Business Division on September 30 as outstanding Shine Muscat farms representing Hwaseong Special City.
The city expects this competition to boost the pride of farms producing high-quality Shine Muscat, raise awareness of the excellence of Shine Muscat produced in Hwaseong Special City, and enhance the brand value of local agricultural products.
Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun of Hwaseong Special City stated, "This competition is an opportunity for farms that have carefully cultivated Shine Muscat in Hwaseong Special City to have their quality recognized and introduce excellent agricultural products to citizens," adding, "We hope for keen interest and participation from cultivation farms so that we can discover Shine Muscat that represents the region."
