Yongin Special City Changes Route 24-3 Bus Turnaround Path for Safety of Choin Elementary and Middle School Commuters

Yongin Special City announced on the 31st that it will change the turnaround route of village bus 24-3 starting next month to enhance the commuting safety of students at Choin Elementary and Middle Schools in Namsa-eup, Choin-gu.

Route 24-3 operates between Hansup Square in Namsa-eup and City Hall, passing through Wanjang-ri, Seo-ri, and Yongin University. Residents have expressed concerns about pedestrian student safety as the bus had been making turnarounds near Choin Elementary and Middle Schools.

The city prepared the revised route plan reflecting opinions gathered from a roundtable discussion with parents chaired by Mayor Lee Sang-il and "Dialogues with Citizens." Starting next month, the route that previously went through Choin Elementary and Middle Schools and Hansup Children's Park will be changed to pass through Namsa Agricultural Cooperative before heading to Hansup Square.

Accordingly, the stops at Namsa Library and Hansup Children's Park will be removed, and a new stop at Namsa Agricultural Cooperative will be added.

Mayor Lee said, "This is an exemplary case of resolving inconvenience by listening to voices from the field," and added, "In the 9th term of elected officials, we will continue communication roundtables where we can hear various opinions on education, housing, transportation, and other areas."
